Router Info

I used to use a old P3 computer as my router running smoothwall. Because it was using to much power, i switched to a regular single board router (Linksys). That failed quite quicky on me because i push so much traffic through the poor thing, it could not handle it. So i looked at my options. Build another small ITX like computer to run my router, buy an older linksys WRT54G and flash it with DD-WRT or, search for a smaller single board system that uses almost no power, is very small, and has only the ports i need on it.

In my searches, i stumbled across PC-Engines. They make a product line called ALIX. Its a single pc board with bootable cf, 500MHz AMD Geode CPU x86, 2 or 3 LAN ports, MiniPCI or MiniPCI-E, power, USB, and serial port for the console. I ordered all the parts to put it togeather from Mini-Box.com.
