It seems like I am now going to rebuild my stores webpage early next year. The current page is http://friendlydrug.com. If you look at it, it is very badly writen. The code base is quite a mess, pictures all streched and smooshed, and the stupid menu with blinking words that make it hit of miss to actually click on it.
I have quite a few ideas for it. One would be to setup a gallery of pictures of the store to show it off and update it all the time. Another idea is I was thinking about adding a blogging application and use it more as an anouncment board for sales and notices and whatnot. More interactive site but nothing to fancy.
That was all I could remember from today but I am still brainstorming.
It turned out to be quite a nice evening. Well not during the time I was over my aunts house, but more like an half hour before I left there. I drove my grandma home and we had a nice long talk like we usually do. My grandma and I are quite close, plus she knows more about accounting than I do. When I got home my dvd rip was complete. I was ripping the second season of “30 Rock” to .mkv files so I don’t need to use dvd’s or dvd images like I have. My cat was chillin with me all night and is now currently sleeping on my bed. That’s all I can think about for now. Back hurts and very tired.
I hate dogs. I am at my aunts house and she has a dog Max. That is one of the worst, most annoying dogs I have ever met. He is humping everyone here and really bothering me completely.
Now I have plenty of screaming kids that are giving me a huge migraine and still this dog.
What am I going to do. At least the food was amazing and I really really loved the corn muffin, even though Stop and Shop was the one to provide it. That’s all I have for now.
So somehow I ended up wandering around Walmart with Carl, Debbie, and Biggs. Also for some reason I have a bar code sticker from a pallet of Sam’s water bottle cases. I don’t know.
Anyway, in other news, I finally received my valves to get my head rebuilt and also finally get back into my car. So far my bill is up to about $1k and still rising but hey, it is all going to be new. Today I also received my German license plate from the Neatherlands. It is so nice and I can’t wait to mount it on my Jetta. I can’t wait to annoy people with the plate on.
So now I am going to get back to my Wallmarting adventure.
Just when I think I find a good site that supported open and free JavaScript menus, It seems that I was wrong again. For some reason, the “Home” menu on is now saying “Buy Now!” when it says that they will never bother you. So strange. Now I am off to look again. I just wish people did not make you pay for everything.
Sometimes I wonder how smart people really are sometimes. I am warning you, this is quite strange and if you don’t like any sort of toilet humor, look away now. Don’t say I did not tell you.
Yesterday was just bad for me. The one really funny bad thing that did happen, well, happened in the bathroom. Not with me but with a customer. Hugo is his name and he has a habit of sort of flirt with all the girls in the store and is just a wee bit strange. He brings them all food and such but gives me an attitude whenever I say a single thing.
One of the employees lets him into the back to use our not so employees only bathroom so he can use it. I am sitting in the back room for like twenty minuets waiting for him to get out so I can get up front to bring change to the register. I thought he finally left so I just left and walked up front, plus my boss was sitting right there in his office. By the time I walked back my memory problems kicked in and completely forgot all about him.
An hour after he gets in there he comes out, of the woman’s bathroom that is, and says “you need a plunger for this bathroom”. He flooded the bathroom with his nasty water to the point it was running into the hallway. First thing my boss asked was “why didn’t you turn off the valve?” We never got a straight answer from him but he never did. I ended up having to mop up all the nasty water. It took me about an hour or so to get the puddle to go away and filled up the mop bucket with at least three gallons of the water. It was one of the worst things that has ever happened to me at my job. There has been some other things that where quite bad but this is the most recent one. I can never look at Hugo the same way again.
This is the plate that I am getting for the front of my Jetta. It is not yellow, it is just the lighting. The sticker is ripped off because that is required by German law when the registration has ended, since their registration sticker is on the license plate. To me and all other New Yorkers it is very strange to us because ours is on the front window along with the state inspection. What the letters mean on the plate is that the HN means the city center it is from. Ex. New York City. The city that it says on the plate is the city of “Heilbronn”. The F is the outlying town from the city. Ex. Queens. On the plate the F stands for “Frankenbach”. So all together, the plate says “Heilbronn – Frankenbach 1744″ but it is written as “HN F1744″. It is very confusing but I am trying the best to explain it.
My plan is that I am going to remove the front license plate with hanger on currently and zip tie the plate for now to the lower drivers side corner of the lower grill. Than I am going to clean up the bumper, drill new holes and, mount the plate.
My next idea was to also change all of the emblems on the trunk over to the German versions. The correct European name for the Jetta is “Bora” and the “1.8T” has a red T while the US version has all chrome numbers/letters. Also thinking about all black VW emblems on the grill and trunk lid.
I found a cool open source program that makes CSS/JavaScript menus and works on Windows, Mac OS-X and even Linux (GUI of coarse). Once I figure out how to use it, I will be replacing my current menu to a newer, better working menu. So far it looks very promising and seems like it will actually help me out. Now if only I found this when I was fighting with it months ago. Well here is the download page and the program is called QuickMenu 6. Try it out. I hope soon you will see a much better working menu on my site soon.
Stuck in class and nothing to do. Ill probably be updating my Christmas list and looking for car parts. I’m happy that ECSTuning is shipping out my timing belt kit today so I should be getting it sometime tomorrow or Monday. He is still looking for what the best plan is to repair my engine. We have not decided if he is going to rebuild my current one, used one or, (I hope not) a refurbished head from VW which would cost a good $2,300. We both don’t know how much it would cost for the other two ways but it will be much cheaper than the refurbished one.
I reset all the cables plugged into my gigabit switch so it all corresponds with IP addresses I use in my house. It turns out that somehow I am using twelve out of sixteen ports of my switch. I did not realize how much crap I have plugged into it.
If I did not mention already, I was going to try a new blogging program called “Habari” but my host, again causing problems, does not have the PHP version that Habari needs to work. I have no plans to switch to it anyway but why not test it. If you want to check it out, the link is This. It probably not going to work if you look at it but check out there website and try out the demo.
