Been really busy as of late with two jobs (in a way). I obtained a intern position in Stony Brook University Hospital in the Network department. I have been loving it and its giving me all sorts of excellent resume eye candy (experience). The side jobs are a huge plus too. More money = keeping the car running + extras which brings me on too the main point of this post. I am finally starting my transmission swap from my 01M (4-speed auto) to a 02J (5-speed manual). I sourced a transmission though a friend that was low miles and well kept for a unbeatable price. It is a 02J FBV code out of a 2.slow Mk4 so the gear ratios are not exactly what my 1.8t will be expecting but it “should” be OK for now. Here is the cons for the cheap price. Shift tower is broken (shown in picture below), missing 5th gear, missing mk4 mount (was in a Mk3 as a 02A replacement) and missing the slave cylinder. I am probably missing a few things but main thing is it is a excellent deal. Now, I need all the above listed parts including (and not limited to) clutch, FW, throw-out bearing, clutch master cylinder, lines, possibly axles, clutch position switch.
