So I just got out of my Cisco 2 class and I was hungry. So I said to myself, t bell sounds good right about now. Of course I found myself there craving 2 beef chaulpas trying to decide to take the drive though or go inside. I saw from the road that, like the usual night at my local Taco Bell, the drive though was out into the parking lot. I than decided to go inside to stuff my face. When I pulled into the parking lot, the last thing I would expect to see there was anybody I know. It turns out that my friends, Biggs and 40gig (Code name) just happen to be there. So they got there food, I got mine, they left and I left and that was my event for the night.

In my NOS class (boring easy stuff), I see a lot of people now showing up with the new mini laptops. I found it quite strange why someone would want something so small. Now that I was just looking at the new Acer one, I like it. It seems like something good to have around since it is nice and small and is quite fast. The new Intel Atom seems to hold up to the Core 2. The only downside is that it doesn’t come with a CD/DVD Rom so it’s much harder to setup an OS. So that’s my 2cents for now. If I actually come across some money soon (na, likely to never happen), I will think about getting one.
Also, I found out that this X-Mas I am getting a Blackberry. I’m very excited about that. It’s going to be a Curve 8310 in red which I have no idea why I want it in that color. It will make it much nicer to post on this very blog, just to keep you guys happy.

So last night my friend Krass and his girlfriend Diana told me how interesting my site actually is. I’m very surprised that people actually like it. I hope new lookers like this just as much.
Well I just wanted to say that first.
Here is the bad news. This morning I got a call from the other manager, Jason, because guess what? The one thing we have been trying to avoid for years happened at some point last night. The server crashed. See what sucks is that the server really does host all the six registers in the store. It holds the complete item database and it hosts the program that runs on the registers. I’m just going to try to stay out of this ordeal as much as I can. I have a test to do today for Accounting in which I am probably going to fail anyway. Still it needs to get done and I can’t be bothered with this crisis.

So I have not been using vista for a bit now. At some point I ended up switching back over to windows XP and just never switched the hard drives back. Maybe since I am now thinking about I might just do that.
Wait, what am I thinking? I am just to lazy to do it so it will probably never happen.
I am also trying out VMware Server 2. I installed it on my Linux server just to play around with it. So far it is quite awesome. Its free (Always a Plus) and it runs very well and easy to manage. Its all web based so I can use any web browser on any computer in the house except my iMac (ill explain in a bit). How it works is that you log into the web console from any computer on the network or external if you forward the ports on your router (unsafe but people do it). You can manage all the OSes you have running on the server, start, stop, restart, everything. Also it has a web console so you can view what you would see if you where at the monitor. Neat stuff here.
Well here is my little problems. VMware forgot that people use Macs, well just like most other companies, and left out a working Firefox plug in for the web console. This sucks alot because I use my Mac for almost everything. It’s my main storage and, well, just everything. I hope they come out with a patch or plug in or even application that will let me do this. Lucky me, I have my trusty ThinkPad.

I was talking to my professor after class with another class mate Thursday. We BSed for a while about random computer related things. So while talking, some how we ended up finding our way to the main datacenter in the college. If you did not already know, I go to SCCC or for the long island noobs, Suffolk County Community College. Anyway, he ended up bringing us into the datacenter. I really do not know how he trusted us to go in there. I wish i got to take pictures but I ended up forgetting to bring it. Than again, I did not know I was anyway. I brought my camera this time just incase.
You really have to see what hardware this college has. From my memory, they have an IBM Z-Series Mainframe, two of the old IBM terminal system which very soon they are going to replace, and a full rack of Cisco VoIP servers that run every phone on this campus. That’s not all though. It also had three or four racks of HP DL360 servers, another rack for the data storage, another rack with a SAN with 14tb of space, and two racks of just the routers and wireless AP servers.
Wow, that was alot of typing.
Anywho, if I get pictures of this awesome room, I will upload them for everyone to check out.

Ok, I spoke too soon. It turns out that this does not work in IE. It just does not work. Lucky for me that I helped my friend Andrew setup a VPN server. I think I will make a guide for that soon since it is harder than people think.
Also, its my birthday today.
I know. Your all so excited.

Sorry I have not posted in a while. Been quite busy with everything. Still running vista on my laptop and I must say that they made a huge improvement since SP1. There are still stability problems with explorer but overall it runs so much better than people say it does. I still think alot of it is just extra garbage like 3D Flip and the dam network and sharing thing. They should also have a better defragment program because this one you have no idea what its doing or working on or even when it will be done.
Also, I have just started using distributive computing networks. I have a client for folding@home running when my iMac is booted into Vista. I felt like helping out Stanford because most of the time i’m doing nothing with my computer. It just sits and runs all day. Lucky it uses almost no power because of the mobile chip it is using. Most of it is the same exact as my laptop, which I love.
Anyway, sorry to bore you with my vista garbage.

Vista:
Well I have been playing with vista for a few days now and I am actually starting to like it. There of coarse plenty off annoying things it does but overall not bad at all. There is something about the Aero glass I like. I think the network sharing thing was just plain stupid. I have also been testing out IE 8 beta for a bit. Crashes all the time. Mostly my site which brings me to the next topic.
CSS:
I love the idea of CSS but this is getting really frustrating. I have been working on setting up drop down menus on my site for 4 days. They still do not fully work. They do but you will see alot of bugs I have not been able to find and fix yet. I am just pulling out my hair. Think of the ACE hardware commercial where the woman cant decide the color of her room and starts pulling her hair. Think of that with not very long hair.
Anyway, if anyone knows what I am doing wrong, please e-mail me. Unless you want me to die. If so your a bad bad person.
Till next time.

Its finally starting to come along. Im starting to figure out what i want to do with it. Doesnt mean i will get that far but it cant hurt to try atleast. I know I cannot spell. So dont say anything about it. Im working on running spell check on everything but you know how many seconds it takes to do it. Im to lazy to do that. Cat is home and more happy (great grammer too. Im special) and starting to pee again. Making a huge mess of my room though. Dam cat. I never realized how much work it is to set this all up and to keep from breaking things. I give the web people alot of credit for knowing how to do this without messing up. Well one day i hope i can do this sort of stuff no problem. Even though my major is in IT/Network engineer, it will still be usefull.
