Yesterday in the mail, I received two nice new parts. Brand new set of 1996 B4 CHA code TDI 0.717 02A gears for my 02J.

I also received a few stickers for my winter steelies project.

Ordered a few more tools for my set to get this oily grease bomb together (aka. Transmission). Ill get the gears in when I get the sockets. For now, they will proudly sit on my desk.

So I am back again, just have not had the time lately to post to here. Some more news on my transmission switch. I have a VR6 clutch and G60 14lb flywheel setup with a new throw out bearing. I am also waiting on receiving my new 0.717 02A CHA code 5th gear set with endbell gasket. I did the calculations using a transmission ratio calculator and I figured out this would be the perfect gearing for my 2L transmission. At 2800rpm in 5th, the car will be going 75mph (highway cruising on LI) which should yield me in the low to medium 30mpg range. I am still looking for a shift tower, axles (confirmed required), trans side mk4 mount, clutch master and slave cylinder and other various bits. Should be fun.

I might be getting rid of my Jetta 1.8T and be getting a newer car. Before you ask, of course it will be Volkswagen. Why wouldn’t I? Anyway I was wondering around the local dealers lot just to scope out any deals and what not. I did see a lot of Mk5 Jettas there which I am not really interested in but they had a few GTI’s (all automatic) and two Passat 2.0T Wagons. Now here is the hard part, which one do I look into? Besides the other two, I am also thinking a Mk4 TDI in Jetta or Golf form or a new Mk6 Golf TDI. Ill let you know what I decide when I get the chance.

Hello again. Its been a while since I posted on my Blog. Nothing really new has been happening lately. Tomorrow I should be getting a new set of H&R race springs from ECSTuning to try to balance my car out just a bit. Now let’s see when I actually get them installed.

I have been busy since I bought myself an XBox 360 about a month ago. I love it so much already. Never got around to setting netflix back up again so I can use the application on the 360 to stream movies. If your ever online give me a shout out. My gamertag is “ihavenoideax2″.

So I finally got the money to get my Unitronic Stage 1+ flash to get my car to pass inspection which it did on the first try. The car overall feels like its a new car with a bad transmission. This is because it is an automatic. But besides that it is crazy powerful now. In the rain, it would just freak out because the wheels would want to slip because of the huge amount of torque it now makes.

Next because of this trans issue, I am searching for a replacment trans for the car but in doing that, it will become a manual transmission. So far I have found one on ebay for $500 but I don’t have the money for that currently. I will have to go to junkyards soon to find a sutable swap.

I finally got my interior LED set for my car in last week. Makes a huge difference now inside. The only issue I have with them, which 42DD states is normal, is that the two dome lights are still lit while the lights are off. I don’t know about them but that should not be normal but whatever. Ill get used to it.

Also, I have been toying with the site again. So far little tweaks here and there. Have to still add some CSS code for this part of the site for how it works with images. The major change I made was the links. I had them such a close color to black with no underline, you could hardly see them. So I added the underline for most links but not all. Also I am still in the process of getting my SSL cert working though the entire /wordpress/wp-admin directory with no avail. That’s it for now.

What started as “Let me test my summer wheels to see if they will or will not rub since the car is lowered” turned in to “Dam, that looks hot! I think I’ll just keep them on”. Ill show you what I mean.

You can’t say it doesn’t look good. I mean I like love my BBS wheels but the Euro R32 reps are just so perfect for it. Now I need to sort out the reverse rake it has. I plan on getting my front fenders rolled than cutting a coil or two off the front struts. Who knows when that will happen but that’s the plan.

I finally got a replacment center console for the Bora today. Now I just need to install it at some point. Not tomorrow since I will be at work all day tomorrow. So far christmas has been ok. I am waiting for something stupid to happen. Still time for that.

Sunday (at this time of posting 2 days ago) I finally got the suspension set I bought months ago installed with the help of my friend Rich, and his dad. The installation was mostly smooth till we did the front passenger side one. Lucky his dad was there to help us along. Came out perfect. A little more bouncy than I thought but its nice and stiff and low now. I think it should be a bit lower in the front but it might settle a bit more. I will see soon.

I have been a bit busy to post any updates since H20. What I can tell you is that I am close to getting my suspension installed in the car since I bought it about 5 months ago. All the bits have new bushings and mounts and what not. I was thinking that I should wait till after winter to get them installed.

I also got my hands on a usable and repairable set of VW BBS Montreal 2s. They have a little curb rash and a lot of scratches but they are straight and true and balanced. I also just ordered a set of BBS center caps for them. I am just going to run them as is for now as my “Winter Wheels” but over the summer I think I might fix them up. Ill keep you posted.
